Background:

American actress Allison Mack is best known for playing Chloe Sullivan on the WB/CW Superman television series “Smallville” (2001-2011), from which she won two Teen Choice Awards and was nominated for two Saturn Awards. She also appeared in the television series “Hiller and Diller” (1997-1998), “Opposite Sex” (2000), “Wilfred” (2012-2014) and “American Odyssey” (2015). Mack has appeared in several films, including “You” (2009) and  “Marilyn” (2011).

Allison Mack was born on July 29, 1982, in Preetz, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, to American parents, Mindy and Jonathan Mack (an opera singer). When she was 2, her family moved back from Germany to the United States and stayed in Long Beach, California. At age 7, she attended The Young Actors Space in Los Angeles. Allison has an older brother named Shannon and a younger sister named Robyn.

Career:

At age 4, Allison Mack kicked off her acting career with a part in commercials for “German Chocolate.” She then entered modeling for a short time. At age 7, she appeared in small parts in the 1989 film “Police Academy 6: City Under Siege,” starring Bubba Smith, David Graf and Michael Winslow, and the NBC TV film “I Know My First Name Is Steven” (1989), starring Corin Nemec, Luke Edwards, Arliss Howard, Cindy Pickett and John Ashton.

During the 1990s, Mack could be seen in a number of TV films, including “Shangri-La Plaza,” “The Perfect Bride,” “Switched at Birth,” “Living a Lie,” “A Private Matter,” “A Message from Holly,” “Night Eyes Three,” “A Mother's Revenge,” “Dad, the Angel & Me,” “Stolen Memories: Secrets from the Rose Garden,” “The Care and Handling of Roses,” “Unlikely Angel,” as well as in the  films “No Dessert, Dad, Till You Mow the Lawn” (1994), “Camp Nowhere” (1994) and “Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves” (1997, Video). She also made guest appearances in television series like “Empty Nest,” “Evening Shade,” “Sweet Justice,” “7th Heaven” and “Providence” and starred as Brooke Diller in the short lived ABC series “Hiller and Diller,” which ran from September 23, 1997 to March 6, 1998.  

Entering the new millennium, Mack co-starred as Kate Jacobs in the Fox short lived series “Opposite Sex” (2000), opposite Milo Ventilation, Margo Finley, Kyle Howard, Chris Evans and Lindsey McKee.  

Her big break arrived when Mack was cast as Chloe Sullivan, one of Clark Kent's best friends, on the CW superheroes series “Smallville.” The series debuted on October 16, 2001 and was ended on May 13, 2011 after 10 seasons. For her work on the series, Mack won two Teen Choices in the category of Choice TV: Sidekick in 2006 and 2007. She also was nominated for a Saturn for Best Supporting Actress on Television twice in 2006 and 2007.

During her tenure on “Smallville,” Mack went on to guest star in TV shows such as “Kate Brasher” (2001), “The Nightmare Room” (2002) and “The Batman” (2006, voice of Lea). She also played Chloe in the web series “Smallville: Chloe Chronicles” (2003-2004) and “Smallville: Vengeance Chronicles” (2006), and portrayed Marquise in the 2010 web series “Reese.” She provided the voice of Lauren in the TV series “Dirty Little Secret” (2010). In 2009, she played the role of Quincy in “You,” a drama film starring and directed by Melodrama Hardin (in her directorial debut).

After “Smallville” ended, Mack starred with Ryan Robbins in the Canadian film “Marilyn,” written and directed by Christopher Perry. The film premiered at the Whistler Film Festival on December 3, 2011. She played the recurring role of Amanda in the comedy series “Wilfred” in 2012 and later in 2014.

Recently, in 2015, Mack appeared as Hillary in an episode of “The Following” called “Reunion” and played the recurring role of Julia, a military intelligence analyst who befriends Suzanne, in the NBC thriller series “American Odyssey.” She portrayed Evelyn Gale in the TV film “Lost in Oz” (2015).
